Christ the Overcomer

Do you know that Jesus Christ is the Overcomer? Chirst is the Son of God. He was born of the virgin Mary and lived a sinless life. His birth was prophesied many years before. Christ was surely distinct from any human being that was ever born into this world. Did this mean that Christ had no problems? Did Christ’s deity exclude Him from the temptations (trials) that are common to mankind? Was Christ exempted from death? The answer to each question is No. Christ experienced problems, temptations (trials), and death. He even experienced temptations from Satan. However, Christ overcame them all. This world is filled with evils, temptations and problems. This world is occupied by Satan and his followers. We live in a physical body with many desires. We have a mind through which thousands of thoughts flow every day. Jesus is the Son of God but while He was on the earth He was flesh and blood. He experienced the limitations of flesh and blood. Yet Christ was able to live a life which pleased His Father (the LORD God). How did Jesus do this? By living the overcoming life. Jesus walked this earth like a normal man but He did not live a normal life. He lived a life worthy of His identity as the Son of God. He was betrayed, denied, persecuted, beaten, and buried but on the third day He rose again. He ascended into Heaven and now He is at the right hand of God. How did Christ obtain this exalted position?

8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: (Phil.2:8-9 KJV)

Jesus Christ lived the overcoming life. Many great men have been born into this world. Mankind has achieved great things. However, no one has ever achieved what Christ has achieved. Christ lived in this world and experienced the infirmities of humanity but He is now at the right hand of God and His name is above every name.

Let us always remember that Christ is the Overcomer!
